· v1.0.0
Major release: refreshed Today workspace, task lists, and task detail
New features & improvements
- Redesigned home into a Today workspace focused on pending tasks, adding tasks, and opening the task list instead of a broad feature directory
- Mail-linked tasks and standalone tasks now appear in one task list, with filters for status, assignee, category, and keywords
- Home now prioritizes overdue and upcoming pending tasks, with a direct path to the pending-only list
- Renamed the follow controls from fixed/following to clearer Manual and Auto-follow email states, making it easier to understand when the side panel follows Gmail
- Improved task detail cards with sender, subject, due date, assignee, category, and detail notes in a cleaner layout, plus direct edit and archive icon actions
- Added a completion prompt after logging progress, and removed nested scrolling from the log area so history reads naturally with the page
- Improved hover affordances in the task list and per-email task list so rows clearly indicate that task detail can be opened
- Added a small mail icon on task rows to open the source email without entering the task detail screen first
- Standalone task detail now hides mail-specific UI such as the Mail tab and subject row
- Updated Chrome Web Store copy, screenshots, and versioning for the official 1.0.0 release
Bug fixes
- When in Manual mode, explicitly clicking another email's task button or an inbox task badge now switches to that task as an intentional action
- Stabilized side-panel behavior when opening the source email from task detail or from the row mail icon, preventing unexpected jumps back to home
- Fixed state issues where the home screen could still show an open-email card after returning to the Gmail list and then navigate back into that email's task view
- Prevented a race condition where adding a task before the email record was saved could create a task without the intended mail link
- Polished dark-mode button colors, row icon alignment, log completion card placement, and empty-state displays
· v0.9.26Revamped task detail, team ownership, and first-run experience
· v0.9.26
Revamped task detail, team ownership, and first-run experience
New features & improvements
- Task detail redesigned around the message: tabs are now "Log" and "Mail", the top-right action is a three-dot menu (Edit / Archive), and the bottom toolbar becomes "Open in Gmail" plus a bell-icon Reminder button. The detail memo sits directly under the hero card
- New "Mail" tab pulls the whole thread via Gmail API, sorted newest-first. Attachments are grouped under the subject, with in-sidebar preview for images and PDFs (+/- zoom), and the body is a 1-line accordion
- For team-shared mail (threadId originates from another member), we fall back to the RFC822 Message-ID to resolve your own inbox thread. Mail not delivered to you is clearly flagged
- Team workspaces now support multiple owners, so billing (Stripe portal) no longer gets locked when one owner leaves. The last remaining owner cannot be demoted or removed
- Member rows use a three-dot menu (Edit / Remove) with a confirmation modal for role changes
- New TaskMail labels default to hidden next to subjects and in the label list, keeping inboxes uncluttered in larger teams
- Friendlier first-run: installs open a welcome tab with three steps and a progress bar (shown once); a "Your first task" checklist lives at the top of the side panel and auto-tracks sign-in, Gmail consent, and opening mail
- Redesigned the Gmail API consent screen: icon + three short points instead of walls of text, with a CASA Tier 2 badge linking to the privacy policy
- Fired-but-unacknowledged reminders aggregate into a notification bar at the top of the side panel. Tap to open a Reminders list and acknowledge individually or all at once
- Account screen adopts an iOS-style list layout: avatar change, inline save for display name, theme picker (Sun / Moon / Monitor), and a confirmation modal on sign-out
- New Information section groups About TaskMail / Release notes / Privacy Policy / Contact / Rate on Chrome Web Store, all linking to the site
- Added an "Open task" button next to assignees in the thread header. For mails with no task yet, it switches to "Add task" so you can register it inline
- Added a snippet icon button near the Send action (right of the three-dot "More options" icon) in compose/reply. Snippets are reachable whether the formatting toolbar is open or not (existing snippet button is unchanged)
- Refreshed the Chrome Web Store short description: No more "what happened to that email?"—see progress in the inbox, finish tasks beside the thread, and share with your team—all in Gmail
Bug fixes
- More reliable Gmail label sync: labels now follow task completion state changes, and completion / archive from any side-panel screen (task detail, Today, workspace list) now recomputes remaining tasks from the DB before applying the label
- Added a 30-second TTL on the applied-label cache and an RFC822 Message-ID fallback so labels also switch correctly for tasks created by another team member
- Fixed flicker and visibility issues in the reminders UI
